Alexandre Diallo is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in the Department of Philosophy. He teaches gender inequality at Sciences Po Paris. He is a Research affiliate at the Centre Maurice Halbwachs. Before joining DEMOSERIES, he has worked as a Research Assistant at Sciences Po, INED, and CNRS. He was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School (May-June 2019).
He earned a Phd in Sociology at the French School for Social Sciences (EHESS) in September 2018. Alexandre’s interests are in Popular Culture, Cultural Studies and Creative Industries, with specific interests in how films and TV series shape people’s perception of ethic issues. Drawing on the sociology of inequality, Star Studies, Cultural Studies and Social Justice, his PhD dissertation aimed to examine whether French people, who live in an “equality-obsessed country“ (Forsé et al. 2013), accepted movie star’s and football star’s earnings.
He holds an MPhil in International Economics at University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, a Master in Management from ESCP and an MPhil in Social Sciences from EHESS. He has authored several academic and non academic papers on racial and gender discrimination, on income inequality and on Art exhibitions. He is also a contributor at French literary magazine Revue Esprit.
