Brendan Hogan is a Clinical Professor at New York University, where he teaches in the Global Liberal Studies Program. His research explores questions related to the relationship between human beings and the world they inhabit, particularly with regards to the power of critical and creative agency. Through his work, Hogan seeks to understand how possessing these powers can lead to political action and what factors prevent individuals and communities from exercising them. Hogan’s writing often explores the role of rationality and imagination in shaping human action and political life, both individually and collectively. He also examines normative questions related to concepts of cosmopolitanism and global citizenship. Hogan's work offers insights into the ways in which individuals and societies can develop a more nuanced understanding of their relationship to the world and take action to address pressing political issues.
